Fauvism, artistic movement that transformed the conception of the pictorial world, emerged during the early years of the twentieth century. Its initiators exhibited for the first time at the Salon d'Automne in Paris in 1905. these young artists had in common a number of proposals that reflected in his paintings: the disappearance of volume and perspective, color purity, the violence of the lines and freedom of expression. The following year, on the occasion of another exhibition the critic Louis Vauxcelles pejoratively baptized with the name Fauves, or "beasts", the nature of his style. Among the highlights Fauve artists Henri Matisse, considered the founder of the movement, André Derain, Maurice de Vlaminck, Raoul Dufy, Albert Marquet, Georges Rouault and Kess Dongen. The richness of color, abstraction of forms and the two-dimensionality of his paintings are the foundation of an aesthetic that dominated the twentieth century several streams.

Who were the artists who influenced this trend?

The Fauves were the contributions of several Post-Impressionist painters. Violence in the color of Van Gogh, Gauguin's early vision and the divisiveness of Seurat and Signac color was the background of the movement.

Henri Matisse, who lived from 1869 to 1954, announced in his compositions from the late nineteenth century, new language that would have him as head of the school.
