Hieronymus Bosch van Aeken, known as El Bosco, was one of the greatest representatives of the fifteenth century Flemish painting. Born in 1450 in Hertogenbosch and it is believed that there remained until his death in 1516. member of the Congregation of Our Lady was a fervent Catholic who left his work the stamp of their religion. Away from the Renaissance aesthetic that dominated the field of science and art in the XV and XVI, was noted for creating a personal style, a symbolic and, at the same time, moral. It was a great master of color, pattern and composition.
