The complex social organization of bees was studied by many researchers, as these insects have developed an incredibly collective system. Where you live is the beehive, and is home to about 50,000 adult individuals, among which are the queen, the drones, a greater number of bees and thousands of larvae in different stages of evolution. The queen is the only one capable of laying eggs. The drones, which do not work, play an important role in reproduction and that is why fed by workers, those who exterminated during the winter, since at that time no food or play no role for the community. Finally, the workers are female bees to bring pollen and nectar, producing honey and wax produced.
The honeycomb has a high level of organization: eggs, larvae and pupae are located in the central cells, due to their need for heat. Around them are those that contain pollen and in turn are surrounded by cells in which bees store honey.
According to zoologist Karl von Frisch, bees communicate with each other through a code of forms made during the flight known as "dance of the bees." Are reported when they know a new place that can provide food or when in the presence of an external danger.
