The brain occupies most of the brain and is housed in the upper central nervous system. It is divided into two hemispheres, right and left, united by the corpus callosum, a set of crossed fibers. Each of these hemispheres governing systems located on the opposite side of the body and is comprised of two types of tissue: gray matter (consisting of nerve cells or neurons and supporting tissue) and white (composed of nerve fibers) . The different areas that make up the gray matter of certain functions, such as intelligence, personality formation, control involuntary body musculature and sensitivity of different parts of the body, as well as govern the vision and language, among others. When cells are injured in any of these parts can cause damage with varying degrees of severity, such as muscle paralysis, seizures, blindness, loss of sensitivity. The white matter is made up of nerve fibers that connect the two hemispheres, several parts of the crust and the central nervous system with.

What functions does each hemisphere?

According to investigations, the left hemisphere is more specialized in the processes of language and law, in spatial perception. Other scientists argue that the former plays a broader role, which is the analytical thinking while the latter works with intuition.
