On 24 August 79 d.C. the eruption of Vesuvius destroyed one of the most beautiful Roman cities: Pompeii. It is the only example in the world in a city that passed within a few hours, life to death. Population was about 20.00 and was the summer resort of wealthy Romans. In 1748 it began digging in the area where the city had risen and there were documents and valuables. In the works of furniture were removed, and daily use items, from coins scattered on the floor and seats with holes to keep the ballot boxes right up to the dining room of a private home with household items. This could rebuild the city and know the life of the Romans of that time.
Vesuvius is located 11 miles southeast of Naples in Italy and is visited every year by thousands of tourists.
