William Shakespeare was the greatest of English playwrights and one of the main writers of history. Born in 1564 in Stratford-on-Avon, in Warwickshire, England. It was the third of eight children. He married Anne Hathaway, with whom he had three children. He traveled to London, where he carried out various activities to earn a living and started as an actor. In that city also intensely focused on reading, which explains the extent of their knowledge. At age 28 he wrote his first works. He was one of the owners of the Globe Theatre in the capital of England, where he represented some of his works. He left the drama in 1612 and died in April 1616.
Among his major works include Hamlet, Macbeth, King Lear, Othello, The Merchant of Venice Richard III, Henry V, Romeo and Juliet and Dream of a Summer Night.
Although Shakespeare is known for his dramatic work, was also an outstanding lyric poet, as the show his sonnets.
Shakespeare died in his home village in Warwick.
