The Hubble is a space telescope that was placed in Earth orbit on April 25, 1990. the quality of space that captures images is 50 times higher than any terrestrial telescope suffers distortion of the atmosphere. His main instruments are operated by remote control and observations are made through the Wide Field Planetary Camera (WFPC-2) operating with visible light and takes a view of unprecedented quality, the FOC, a special camera to detect faint objects , the STIS spectrograph providing information on the chemical composition and speed of detecting, and the NICMOS; combination of camera and spectrograph.
With the FOC camera views were obtained of some of the earliest galaxies. The STIS was used successfully to detect "black holes".
The main mirror of the Hubble had defects, so blur originally sent to Earth. It was repaired in February 1993.
